Hi, I'm Allison!
I am an entrepreneur, traveler, and self-proclaimed mom-on-the-go. I had my son Tommy two years ago and quickly learned that while showing him the world was SO FUN, packing for the adventure was... not so much.
I learned that a diaper bag isn’t big enough for a 3+ night stay anywhere, and packing dozens of tiny baby items in traditional luggage led to stress and chaos throughout the trip.
I wanted to find a way to easily pack, access, and transport all the little things my little one needed, but when I couldn’t find what I was looking for, I made one myself.
Our Story
I invented the Packaboo! It’s a travel system that hangs on the back of a closet door and contains small and medium, easy to access pockets for all the things babies and toddlers need when traveling. The pockets are elastic-lined on top to keep items secure yet accessible during travel, and when you're ready to go, simply fold it up and add it to your luggage.
Takeoff!
As a mom who loves to travel, I knew that including my baby (now toddler!) on trips was a priority, but I didn’t realize how tricky it would be to pack/unpack/repack all of his little things. It was a problem, but luckily (like most moms and dads), I am a problem-solver.

The Inspiration
Seeing the Need
I took to the internet, and I saw a video on social media using a cheap, behind-the-door shoe organizer to hold baby toys, clothes, and diapers. A lightbulb went off, and I thought, “I could do that… but what if I made it better?” Using the shoe organizer, I found that items would fall out of the pockets in transport, and it lacked the aesthetic appeal of the rest of my luggage (to say the least). It was clunky and ugly. There was a lot of room for improvement, so I got to work.
The Prototype
Testing and Adjusting
I made my first prototype of the Packaboo in my living room using velcro strips, a shoe organizer, and a hot glue gun. It was a sloppy start, but I was on to something! I used the prototype on trips to Denver and to Disney, and I learned a lot about what worked well and what could be better. Since then I have met with designers, manufacturers, and a lot of my mom friends to perfect the Packaboo’s design and features.

Just like our littles, growth takes time. We've learned, grown, and adjusted the Packaboo and are excited to see where the changes take us! Now there are larger pockets on top for growing kids, and the pockets are light colored to make it easier to see what’s inside. We’ve never been so proud of our product, and we can’t wait to get it into the already very full arms of traveling parents everywhere. Let’s travel, baby!

Yes! The Packaboo fits in standard overhead storage compartments on airplanes. It is not designed to fit under the seat in front of you.

Yes! When your child is younger, many of the pockets are used for diapers, wipes, and extra clothing. As your child grows and needs fewer diapering essentials, those same pockets become available for larger clothing items and travel necessities.
Many families find they can comfortably use the Packaboo well into sizes 5T–6T, depending on the length of their trip and what they choose to pack.
